HEALTH AND SAFETY
Calfrac is compliant with global standards for HSE Management Systems which provides the framework for the continuous improvement of the HSE Management System; based on the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle.
The Calfrac HSE Management System has strengthened procedures and processes, and ensures we “say what we do, and do what we say“. This is proven in our trailing and leading KPI’s which consists of TRIF, JSA’s, hazard identifications, audits and inspections, and HSE training.
ENVIRONMENT
Calfrac has implemented numerous programs and initiatives to demonstrate that we have ample personnel in place to maintain compliance, training in environmental issues sufficient to operate facilities with knowledge of regulations and procedures, and equipment/supplies to address any environmental issue that may occur.
HSE AUDIT
Annual HSE audit of district facilities to ensure inspections, waste management, chemical handling, and water discharge permitting is current and complete.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
Quarterly initiatives aim to bring ownership of environmental consciousness to each employee and encourage employees to practice environmental stewardship.

Many Calfrac customers are provided this information to educate the public on the Calfrac efforts to establish environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs that improve the company value while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

TRANSPORTATION SAFETY PROGRAM
Calfrac Well Services has a superior Transportation Safety program in place encompassing driver qualifications and recruiting requirements, a learning management system and employee development, risk assessment tools and processes, trip and convoy protocols and tracking, driving performance monitoring systems, plus more.
Governed by the HSE group and Divisional Transportation Supervisor, certified Driver Trainers are stationed within each operating district and perform ongoing training and evaluations with the driving population. The Calfrac Journey Management Procedure and the Calfrac Transportation Safety Manual cover sections such as driving levels, training requirements, practical requirements, journey management and convoy procedures, fatigue management, hours of service, vehicle inspection reports, incident reporting, and employee responsibilities. Calfrac is also registered as a driver training school with the local governments it operates in which develops individuals to a commercial vehicle license.

Calfrac Well Services is also a member of several industry groups related to driving safety in its operating jurisdictions:

- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
IN-VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM (IVMS)
Calfrac utilizes an In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) within its fleet; this system provides real time monitoring of equipment movement and provides real time notifications for events such as speeding, hard braking/acceleration, accident detection, and employee driving scorecards. The IVMS system also has a built in digital journey management form and fulfills all the legal requirements for Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
